Saint Monica And Her Pals is a novel in the form of the voices of the Santa Monica, California homeless, taking place in the first few years of the 21st century; even the earth has words to add, stories to tell. These voices and lives intertwine in this popular tourist town, from the shy Tilted John, to the obnoxious guitar playing brothers bent on getting famous, but for now live in a van together and perform in the streets.
We see the ways in which a homeless life is much different from one with a home, but we also see the ways in which it is the same, as the human mind and heart are the ultimate homes, and life is always funny and sad, for all of us.
